Botanical Features

Large shrubs or small trees; young stem, petioles and nerves below brown pubescent. Leaves simple, alternate, 5-8 x 2-3 cm, elliptic to oblong lanceolate, acute at apex, attenuate at base, entire to obscurely crenate on margins; main nerves 8-10 pairs. Racemes axillary, 1-1.5 cm long, 3-6 flowered. Calyx tube 0.1-0.15 cm long; lobes 0.2-0.25 cm long, lanceolate, hairy without. Corolla rotate, white; lobes 0.25-0.3 cm long, united at extreme base. Stamens 10-12. Ovary 3-4 celled; ovules 2 in each cell; style filiform; stigma capitate, papillate. Drupe smooth.
