Botanical Features

Trees, bark thick, pale brown, smooth, peels off in irregular thick scales; blaze brown-red. Leaves paripinnate, alternate, exstipulate; rachis 3-20 cm, stout, glabrous; leaflets 4-8, opposite, subopposite or alternate; petiolule 4-8 mm; lower pair of leaflets stipule like, sessile, lamina 1-2.5 x 1-2 cm, reniform, other leaflets 5.5-21 x 3-10 cm, obovate or elliptic, or elliptic-obovate, base oblique, acute or cuneate, apex acuminate, margin entire, glabrous above, glaucous beneath, coriaceous; lateral nerves 9-10 pairs, parallel, prominent, regular, flowers polygamous, cream coloured, fruit a drupe, 16-18 mm long, oblong or ovoid, covered with soft prickles; seeds 1-2, brown, smooth.
