Leaves simple, opposite, estipulate; petiole 5-16 mm, stout, grooved above, glabrous; lamina 3-12.5 x 2.5-7.5 cm, elliptic, obovate or elliptic-obovate, base cuneate, apex obtuse or emarginate, margin entire, glabrous, coriaceous, pellucid-dotted; flowers white, in axillary or terminal corymbose panicles, fruit a berry, 6-8 mm across, globose.
