Botanical Features

Semi-deciduous trees, bark reddish-brown, rough, exfoliating in large flakes; fibrous; blaze pink red with white streaks and strong smell. Leaves paripinnate, alternate, clustered at the tips of branchlets, leaflets 12-30, opposite or subopposite, base oblique, apex acuminate, margin entire or serrate, glossy above, flowers white, in terminal or axillary drooping panicles; fruit a capsule,  seeds many, thin, winged at both ends.
