Shrubs to small trees, spines stipular, in pairs, often connate at base, straight, ivory-white or often brown, the larger ones hollow and horn-like. Leaves bipinnate: rachis 1-3 cm long, slender, petioles 0.5-1 (-2) cm long; glands solitary, pinnae 2-5 pairs, leaflets 6-15 pairs, flowers: creamy, white or yellowish, fragrant, pods falcate-oblong, dark reddish-brown or blackish when dry
