The wood is used for furniture making, cabinet work, carving, making ornamental ply-boards and veneers. The wood is too expensive for general constructional work but also used for posts, rafters, doors and window frames. Leaves are used as a fodder and bark contains tannin. It is grown in coffee plantation as a shade tree.
